Recently, I got some ribbon yarn and really liked it. I have enjoyed experimenting with it. Recently, I tried using it to add a ruffle to a plain double crochet scarf. It turned out marvelously. Check it out for yourselves and leave a comment. You can also purchase this scarf by clicking the button below (you will be forwarded to my etsy page). Also, I will give a shout out to my model Brooke. She did a great job.

These phone cases/ wallets are really a marvel of engineering. I am amazed by the creativity of the pattern by "patternplay" on etsy. I have made these in 2 different colors so far (red and gold). They have a key ring on the top corner and a wallet pocket on the back. Personally, I use a red one that I have attached to my purse via the s-clip (that is included with the case). It is padded to protect your phone and is really handy when you go to the mall and do not want to carry your whole purse. You can detach the case from your purse, attach it to your keys. put your phone in the inside, and put your credit card, ID and cash in the wallet pocket. I also keep my business cards inside the wallet pocket, so there is a tip for you. If you would like more information (including whether your phone will fit), you can check out the listing in my shop by clicking the button below.
I have added a pony and a unicorn to my shop. I hope to add more in the future. The bodies are made of felt and the hair is needle felted on to the body. I had not done needle felting before these projects, but it was surprisingly simple in this case. I think these are totally adorable and I am really excited to have them.
Another great thing about these is that they are completely handmade. No sewing machine have touched these items. They are very cute with all of their handsewn details. Check for some in the button below which will take you to the toy section of my Etsy shop. I am starting a new Baby section in my shop. One addition are these all natural baby booties made with undyed yarn and are very soft. I really like this pattern and am really proud of how these turned out. Let me know what you think in the comments section. Also check out my other baby stuff, if you have an upcoming baby shower.
Recently, crochet overload has messed up my wrists, so I have been trying to balance crocheting with sewing. I recently purchased a pack of owl patterns, so look for a variety of toy owl felties in my shop. Personally, I am a fan of the owl fad. Owls are really cool animals; they can rotate their heads 360 degrees, they are nocturnal and they are really amazing hunters. There are tons of other amazing animals out there, so hopefully they all get their days of glory too. I heard about how you can make these clay mushrooms and put them in pots and terrariums. I am kind of a nerd when it comes to fairies (not too much, though) and I remembered that if you step in a ring of mushrooms, it is called a fairy ring. According to the folklore, a "fairy ring" is like a trap that fairies lay for humans. If you step in it, you are stuck. I do not have enough to make a fairy ring, but I thought that was a cool idea, so I made these with glitter on the top, so they are totally magical-looking. These are available in my shop and are totally cute. I am really happy with how it turned out. Check these out in the link below: Feel free to leave a comment. I would love to hear from you!
These are some terrycloth slippers I made from a pattern I got on Etsy. After the cutting of the fabric, it took me 2-3 hours to sew, so not too long. If you use a thinner fabric, they look even more trendy. If you want to make your own version, check the link below... If you make these slippers, post your projects here in the comments:
I got sick of wearing those tiny socks that you have to wear in dress shoes... You know the ones that basically only cover the bottom of your foot from toe to heel. They are always falling off my foot and getting holes. So instead of recreating a new sock, I created shoe liners that go into the shoe. I sewed them on the sewing machine, but you could do something similar with crochet, but I have a slight injury from crocheting so much, so I have to go a WHOLE WEEK without crocheting. However, it would take longer to crochet than sew. I prewashed the fabric so that they can be easily washed when they get gross. I lined the inside with flannel, so that it is really cute and soft. They are really comfortable, perfect for my favorite casual shoes. If you want to know where I got the fabric, it was at JoAnn Fabrics in one of those quilting packs that only has the one yard of fabric. I think it is really cute fabric and I might have an item in my shop with this fabric. Check it out.
If you think shoe liners are a good idea, then leave a comment below. If you were wondering how I do my scale maille crochet, you may now purchase this pattern to show you. It is a crochet pattern for a gift card holder featuring this beautiful scale maille front. It is closed by a velcro back and would make a memorable gift with a gift card inside. Perfect for some special Christmas presents too. The materials that I used were: Caron Spa yarn Velcro Scale Maille Scales I buy my scales from the following website: I would suggest you buy in bulk to maximize savings. This is a lovely scarf made from the yarn: 5th Avenue Silken Effects Bamboo. I have posted a lot of products with this yarn. I love it! It is 80% bamboo which is so perfect for spring and summer. It is a really beautiful pattern and I love how the "stripes" work into the little clumps. I love this scarf. It might be available in my Etsy shop.
